The 3rd Edition Of CAMIFF Opens Up Tomorrow Monday April 23rd, In Buea - Agbor Gilbert Gives A Run Down Of Activities

The Chief Executive Officer of the Cameroon International Film Festival -  CAMIFF Agbor Gilbert Ebot aka AGE, has opened up about the upcoming festival, which kicks up tomorrow Monday April 23rd, through Saturday April 28, 2018 in Buea at the W Cinema and Mountain Hotel precisely.

Speaking about the festival on MediaAfrique 89.6 FM yesterday Saturday April 21st, AGE CAMIFF is expecting delegations from Canon, Nigeria, India and other countries today Sunday April 22nd, in the Buea Mountain city.

AGE said the curtains of the festival will open tomorrow Monday, with a Press Conference.

On Tuesday April 24th, there will be a bus tour, where delegates will be taken around the shooting sites in the South West Region especially in the Fako Division of Cameroon, to enable them see the locations where Cameroon films are shot. It is also a site seeing venture to boast the touristic activities of the country.

The day will be crowned with a cocktail at the Mermoz Hotel in Buea.

On Wednesday April 25th, CAMIFF will start with an acting Masterclass from Wednesday 25th April, championed by Cameroon born Nollywood's Veteran actor Zack Orji, Actress Itambi Delphine and Anurin Nwunembom.

Still on that Wednesday in the evening, there will be a Cultural night to celebrate the cultural heritage of Cameroon. Delegates too will be exhibiting their various cultures.

On Thursday April 26, there will be a Canon Workshop for o using the Canon Camera. Canon is coming to educate Cameroonians how to use the Canon Camera, which is the most used for shooting. That same evening, Canon is sponsoring a  cocktail party at Mountain Hotel, with their dress code White and Red.

On Friday 27 April, CAMIFF is inviting Content Buyers to discuss on the distribution of  Cameroon films, which is a bottle neck in the industry.

Still on that Friday, CAMIFF will be giving Cameroonian students the opportunity to meet with officials of the North Western University of Qatar.  The winner of the Best Short Film will travel to Qatar, for a two weeks training program, sponsored by the North Western University.

The evening will be crowned by an all white party at the Mountain Hotel, sponsored by BVS.

The festival will close its curtain on Saturday April 28, by His Excellency the Minister of Arts and Culture, who will be handing over prizes to winners of various categories, in the presence of dignitaries of Buea, patrons and well wishers of CAMIFF.

According to AGE, 2228 films were submitted this year, 57 films are in competition, with 10 films in the Cameroon category, Video film category, documentary category and a short film category.
