SDO Songa Pierre Rene Imposes Curfew in Mezam from November 8th-23rd from 10pm - 5am.

Government bans movement in Bamenda from 10 PM to 5 AM

The SDO of Mezam Division, North West Region; Mr Songa Pierre René has instituted another curfew on the population of Bamenda starting yesterday; Wednesday 8th November to Thursday November 23rd, which implies that movement of persons, cars and motorbikes between 10 p.m to 5 a.m in Bamenda is prohibited.

This is the second time this year, the first was earlier, in September during the pre-independence day protests.

This is definitely due to the recent attack on forces of law and order, which has caused the death of 3 Gendarmes in less than a week.

The ban does not apply to security people and administrative leaders. Read the signed statements:
