Case For Anglophones In Detention At The Kondengui Prison Adjourned. Lawyers Explains What Happened

At the Yaounde Military Court today, for trial against:
Mancho Bibixy
Tsi Conrad
Tha Emile
Aselecha Martin
Guingah Valentine
Awanatuo Zacheus
Awah Dzenyagha

Case Number: 084/16 and 014/17 On: hostilities against the State, Terrorism, Secession, Group rebellion, Pillage, punishable by articles 74, 102, 154, 157, 187, 236 of the Penal Code and 2 of Law No 2014/028 of 23 December 2014 on repression of terrorism.

Police inspector Sombie Valerie Alain and police inspector Olinga Tina Felix testified against the accused, while cross examination from defense lawyers Senior Barrister Bernard Muna and Barrister Bindzi exposed the flaws and incoherence of their testimonies.

The case was adjourned to tomorrow December 1, 2017.

For the case against Penn Terence Khan and Che Saphyra Lum, the court ruled that there was a lack of sufficient evidence against Ms. Che Lum on the charges brought against her. She was released.

Terence Penn's case was adjourned to the December 27, 2017 for his testimony. Whilst that of Ngwa Ngaling Joseph was equally adjourned to tomorrow December 1, 2017.

All accused were represented by Senior Barrister Bernard Muna, Chief Ngute Edward Abia II, Barrister Nkongho Felix Agbor Balla, Tah Calvin, Louisa Songwe, Barrister Dorcas Nkongme and Bindzi Eric.

The court session started at 1:11 pm and rose at 6:35 pm.
