Mammoth Crowd Stumped The Bamenda Mezam High Court, To Support Their Accused Clergymen And Principals Of Catholic Schools, As Case Adjourned To July 24th 2017

Rev. Sisters, Priests, Church groups in their uniforms, Christians dressed in black, sympathizers and well wishers of the Catholic faith, in Bamenda and its surroundings stood up this morning as one man, and marched to Mezam Bamenda High Court of First Instance to support their Clergymen unjustly dragged to court by a group of confused people who call themselves Cameroon Consortium of  Parents .

Military-men were all over the place, and all attempts to stop the people from going to court failed, as they seem to have received instructions not to us violence.

By 8:57 AM, this Monday May 5 2017, the courtroom was packed full with Christians, sympathizers and the media. The ArchBishop did not come to court, but the Auxiliary Bishop was present and on time. Meanwhile the Plaintiff who called themselves Consortium of Parents were no where around the courtyard when the hearing started.

Speaking for the accused, Barrister Sama invoked the conscience of the presiding judge, while noting the unjustified absence of the plaintiff, calling them plagiarist, playing delaying tactics.

Barrister Sama refused to be pushed over by the judge who was trying to rush over the case.

Among their baseless accusations was the one that 'the Archbishop was working with Mark Bareta of Bareta News to motivate people to take to the streets'. This accusation was quickly kicked out by Barrister Sama and his colleagues, who equally rejected any adjournment that the judge was trying to announce.

The judge went out of her nerves, and asked Barrister Sama to stop, at the same time a lawyer entered, claiming he was for the defense counsel. He refused to introduce himself, but Barrister Sama identified him as as Barrister Tassa.

Meanwhile the drama continued as the said Barrister Tassa who spoke for the Plaintiff, claimed they did everything they could to stop the Bishops from coming to court, because they didn't expect things to turn out this way, considering the caliber of people they were messing up with.

The lawyer said the Lead Lawyer Barrister Achu Julius had requested for an adjournment, since he claimed to have a game changing plan concerning the case. Moreover he said Barrister Achu Julius was sick.

The State Counsel acknowledged receipt of the adjournment letter by Barrister Achu, and deemed it right to approve the adjournment request, invoking articles that are in line with adjournment requests, but Barrister Sama insisted that the entire article be read in full.

After long minutes of debate, the case was finally adjourned to July 4 2017.
