Reports from the Far North Region say a group of less than fifty Cameroonian unhappy military men of the Air Force 1 and 2 Battalions who are at the end of their two years mission took up arms and  barricaded the  main highway roads from Kousséri-Maroua, on Saturday June 3 2017, against the approval of their hierarchy, to exhibit their grievances against unpaid salaries and allowances.

'We saw armed military men blocking the Kousséri-Maroua road. They were very angry, and I heard some of them complaining of their conditions. I was so afraid that I had to hide myself in the bush' A Kousseri denizen told a reporter on phone.

The mystery behind this  revolting is the small number of those who were manifesting.

'It is just a small group of military of Sector 1, who barricaded the road for a very short period of time. The Commander was informed, and this small group was brought to reasoning. On the other hand, we will let  you know how they will be disciplined. There is no need to dramatize the situation. Contrarily to what is said on social media, the situation is calm, and our positions on the war front zones are in tact. The commander has taken all necessary measures, and the Ministry of Defense will soon publish a press release on this issue'. Colonel Didier Badjeck explained to a reporter.

The Saturday June 3, 2017 Military Revolt happened while the Minister of Defense, Joseph Beti Assomo was out of the country.
