Eseka Train Derailment: Families Drag Camrail Officials To Court  Demanding Explanations For The Disappearance Of Their Relatives

The Douala Court of First Instance Bonanjo will on Monday May 15, 2017, begin the  hearing of process of relatives of victims of the October 21st 201Eseka train accident.

The familes of the victims  Mme Enangue Njoh Dorette and M. Tedonzong Romauld, had sought the intervention of the law, because their parents who boarded the Intercity Train 152 on that fateful October 21st 2016 from Yaounde to Douala, never arrived home, and neither were their names censored among those the government declared death, nor have their bodies ever been identified and handed over to them.

It is on the basis of their complain that the President of the Bonanjo Court of First Instance, in a court order of May 10 2017, summoned Camrail, its Director General Didier Vandenbon and Owners Vincent and Cyrille Bollore, for preliminary hearing on Monday 15th of May 2017, as from 10 a.m.

This is the first legal procedure engaged by the law, six months after the horrible accident, that  Official figures claim 80 passengers lost their lives, while unofficial reports count 100 and above.

Meanwhile the long awaited outcome of the Prime Minister Yang's investigating committee, seem to be archived and forgotten in one of the the iron lockers at the Etoudi Unity Palace.
