The Minister of Secondary Education Jean Ernest Bibehe Ngalle Massena  has once more extended the registration date for the 2016/2017 GCE registration  to April 15, 2017.

The extension was made through a Ministerial decision of Thursday March 30th 2017, 10 days after the last deadline expired, and it concerns all schools in both the French and English system.

Minister  Bibehe's two weeks extension is an attempt to see if more students from the two striking Anglophone Regions can register, to swell up the minority list of those registered, so that the exams might be written mid June 2017.
The Ministers decision also request that students should benefit from this two weeks Easter holiday and take part in holiday classes to catch up with time lost.

According to the Minister, this new time table will go a long way to help students meet up with other requirements.
He also urged teachers to be present in schools to take part in catch up classes especially during the upcoming Easter holidays.
Schools in the two Anglophone Regions have remained grounded since Nov. 21st 2016 when teachers in the English sub system of education embarked on a general strike action.
Despite several forceful attempts by government to have schools reopen normally, students, parents and teachers, fear their lives, as insecurity looms the two regions.
