Updates from Bamenda

Official nerves soothing news is still to come out from the ongoing talks in Bamenda. What we know is the fact that government is pressuring for the re-opening of schools, while hastily accepting, approving or carrying forward some of the requests tabled by the teachers, to forcefully get them in their nets.

Before lights went off at the governor's office hosting the meeting, CRTV Veteran journalist John Mbah Akuroh had given a highlight of the tensed situation.

In his own words unedited:
"Talks stall in Bamenda as government bench reportedly is concentrating only on seeing the strike suspended immediately without the materialization of any of the promises made so far as concessions. Right now it is cacophony in the hall with Unionists sticking to their guns! Stay glued for more updates soon....."

During deliberations, lights went off, and surprisingly, there was no generator at the governor's office. When lights came back almost an hour later, confusion had enveloped the place, as military barriers were reinforced all over, stopping people from crowding the meeting venue.

Meanwhile more than 100 bikers who had successfully entered the yard, are chanting songs of praise and worship praying at the same time, while others who have been denied access by the military are determined to cross the red line at the finance junction, as they are demanding that the dialogue should stop, fearing the safety of the Trade Union Leaders.

Roads from up station down Finance junction have been blocked, but the people were quick to create a secret road that led to the governor's office, which unfortunately was discovered by the guys in green khaki who blocked it.

While we await a black or white smoke to come out of the ongoing meeting, our representatives know that the future of the anglophones is in their hands, and they told our reporter before entering that slaughter house yesterday that if they have resisted 39 days of fasting, it is not on the 40th day that they will eat poison.

We understand pressures are high and people are restless, but we implore you all to be patient, and beware of unofficial information.

Whatever time they come out from that pressure pot of a meeting, trust us, we shall provide you first hand information, as our reporter is standing right in front of the governor's office, to give you reliable information from the horses mouth.
