Cameroon - Eseka Train Derailment - Minister Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o takes the Hot Seat in front of Prime Minister Yang's investigating committee

Minister Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o

Exactly eleven days after the Eseka train accident that killed hundreds of its passengers and wounded many, tears are still ceaselessly flowing in the eyes of Cameroonians, and hearts are still bleeding heavily in pains, while life is gradually returning to the crash site and activities on the rails are also slowly but surely going on.

Heads must roll. Lessons must be learnt, and the culprits brought to justice to appease the people.

Among those accused for pushing the victims to their early graves is the Minister of Transport, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o who gave instructions to Camrail to double the brake-less coaches, and validated the go ahead for them to overload the train with passengers and goods, against the security rules of the company.

As if that was not enough, he denied that there was a train accident at 1 pm that fateful day Oct. 21st 2016, whereas the train had derailed before that time. He later pushed the blame to Camrail, denying his involvement in the arrangement for the train to double brake-less wagons and jam packed it with passengers.

Now is the time for him to face his bosses and officially explain his contradictions and his incompetency, as he was being auditioned today Oct. 31st 2016 by the Eseka train crash investigating committee headed by Prime Minister Philemon Yang.

What ever Mebe Ngo'o said during his hearing, God alone knows the result that will be presented to Cameroonians, who are expecting nothing but the truth.

But then, how can the truth be told, when those who are supposed to tell such truth have been kept in the dark, while those who won't tell the truth, are the very ones who make up the fratenal committee of birds of the same feather?
